Unique PVC Garden Idea
Mr Davis built his own "above ground" garden with mounted pvc pipes on posts and filled them with dirt. It keeps out pests and rodents from getting at his plants because quite simply they can't reach them.
Mr Davis placed two 4 by 4-in. treated posts in concrete for supporting two 6-in. pvc pipes. 2" diameter holes were drilled at 1 ft apart then filled the pipe with Miracle Grow. He then planted a seeding in each hole and watered. He also hung grow-bags for strawberries and tomatoes from the tops of the support posts.
Davis says this is ideal for tomatoes and other crops without deep rootsNow in its second year, Davis says the system is ideal for tomatoes, peppers and other non deep-root crops. It is stable and produces earlier in the year and continues to grow even later n the fall. The only negative is watering, it has to be watered quite regularly.
For another unique way of contianer gardening and containers that are automatically watered and fertilized, see James DIY Container Gardening Ideas uploaded to the gizmoplans Home & Garden section.
